Marilena is a doctor of Microbial Physiology, Biochemistry and Genetics, as well as Oeonologist. She has been with Protos since 2005, when she started to work along Protos' longtime Chief Winemaker, Carlos Guzman. She soon climbed the tanks within the oenology department to become his right hand, and eventually becoming herself Chief winemaker, upon Carlos' retirement in 2014. Marilena always says that the secret of her success is the great team of oenologists that work side by side with her.
