Domaine Alice Hartmann is a historic wine estate on the Luxembourg side of the Moselle (Mosel) river, with 200+ years of history. In 1927 Alice Hartmann and her husband were given the Domaine as a wedding present. In 1937, Mr. Hartmann died in a car crash and Alice took over operation of the Domaine as a widow, branding the Domaine in her name as it is known today.
Alice was passionate about quality and the Riesling grape variety, planting vines on the terraced Koeppchen Hill in Wormeldange. Some Riesling vines planted in 1937 continue to produce fruit. Since 1996, the Domaine has been run by two Luxembourgish families who continue Alice’s legacy. They expanded the estate’s focus by incorporating their own Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vineyards, creating a range of terroir-driven wines that honor both tradition and innovation. In the 2000s, the Domaine introduced a line of premium Crémant de Luxembourg sparkling wines (traditional method) that have become a signature of the estate and are now enjoyed widely in Luxembourg and beyond.
